The most significant heritage landmark of Kuala Lumpur, National Textile Museum is situated in Merdeka Square and has some magnificent textile collections, accessories and classic apparels. The museum also exhibits the methodology and technology of textile manufacturing. Two storey building with four different galleries showcases elegant Mughal- Islamic heritage in architecture and textile artefacts.
Explore Pohon Budi Gallery for knowing about historical textile materials and goods like shawls, knitted clothes and embroidered apparels. Colourful batik can be seen in the Pelangi Gallery. Head to Teluk Berntai Gallery for viewing Indian textile patterns and examine the final gallery, Ratna Sari Gallery for some bling of antique jewellery and accessories. An exquisite place to vouch for exploring the rich textile collection, National Textile Museum is at proximity to Masjid Jamek, Sultan Abdul Samad building and Dataran Merdeka.
