Lataguri experiences a tropical climate owing to its geographical location. Its proximity to the Gorumara National Park in West Bengal makes it a sought after tourist attraction. Lataguri in Monsoon (June - October)
The hot and humid climate in the region leads to a full-on monsoon season each year. The rainy season begins in July and lasts till September (sometimes till mid-October). One should expect heavy downpours, mainly between August and September, in this region. The rainfall averages out to around 3100 mm every year affecting tourism to a great extent. The temperature also hovers between 26°C and 31°C, making it quite an uncomfortable, sweaty and damp time of the year. Lataguri in Summer (March - June)
This tropical part of Lataguri witnesses extreme heat during summers that begin in March and last till June every year. As the season progresses, the mercury level easily shoots up to a sweltering 38°C, making April, May and June the hottest months of the year. The level of humidity also increases substantially. With the unbearable level of heat and humidity, tourists would not be able to make the most of their trip because stepping out in that kind of sun is sure to exhaust everyone.
