Market Stairs is a historic wooden-covered staircase connecting Place de la Palud to Lausanne’s iconic Cathedral. Nestled in the heart of the old town, the stairs date back to the 13th century and offer a charming path lined with picturesque views of medieval architecture. It is a popular route for pedestrians. The climb offers a charming view of the market on the east side of the stairway.
All the shops and cafes look tiny allowing a panoramic view, which keeps getting better as you climb up. The staircase is very steep. But, once you reach the destination, you won’t be disappointed.
