Royal Observatory, situated at the city's centre signifying Greenwich meantime and the Prime Meridian, is a major attraction contributing to astronomy and navigation. Overlooking the River Thames, houses the Astronomy Centre, Meridian Courtyard, Flamsteed House and the only planetarium in London, Peter Harrison Planetarium.
The observatory offers multiple activities to visitors and astronomy enthusiasts and is managed by the National Maritime Museum. Stand on the Prime Meridian Line of Greenwich, explore the largest telescope in the UK, Great Equatorial Telescope, or hop around in the Octagon Room to check the ancient astronomical instruments, clock lines and many more. Visitors can also spot the famous Harrison clock and shepherd clock in the observatory.
