Manali, as they call it the honeymoon capital of India, is a beautiful destination in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Be it backpackers, college friends, couples or families, Manali has the rig (Read More)ht mix for everyone. A 12-hrs bus journey(or self-drive) from New Delhi (the capital city of India) will take you to Manali. You could be spoilt for choices for accommodations-budget hotels, hostels, homestays, luxury resorts. But do remember to book in advance. Rohtang Pass and Solang Valley are the two must-visit attractions in Manali. You can try different activities like paragliding, skiing, ATVs etc at these two places. Also, given that you visit during winters(late Nov-Feb), you certainly experience snowfall.

This is the ideal place for tourists looking to unwind and rejuvenate in the lap of nature, for there is no p (Read More)lace in the country more vibrant and charming as Manali. This town also has a multitude of options for tourists looking for adventurous activities like trekking, paragliding, skiing, zorbing, white water rafting etc. Besides adventurous activities, Manali also has a lot of temples which all tourists and devotees love to visit including the Raghunath temple and Jagannathi Devith Temple being one of the important ones. Hadimba Temple, a 14th-century temple is famous for its wooden architecture and for its religious values. Manali is also used as the base town for the Manali-Leh highway and Leh is around 479 km from here. Lahaul and Spiti district can also be accessed from here during the summers using the same highway.

While in Manali, trek through and paraglide over its valleys and snow-clad landscapes, visit the lakes and rivers with chilled and pristine running water, walk through fascinating temples and a dash (Read More)of old world charm. And that still, would just be the beginning. After a 3-day stay in Manali, one can head to the sister town of Kullu, both almost always covered in the same trip, or other nearby towns like Manikaran, Naggar or Kasol.

Manali is like the go-to spot if you're into mountains and nature. I went there in the month of October last year and the weather seemed to be perfect. I love winters and the cold weather so it was g (Read More)reat for me. I went with my family and a bunch of our family friends in a traveller bus. The journey was quite hectic and uncomfortable since many of us got altitude sickness and we had to stop quite a lot on the way. But after reaching the destination, we had a great view of the mountains and really good food along with warm cups of tea which made all the difference! There are many sporty activities like para gliding to do there as well so you'll definitely be entertained. If you're undecided on where to go in your vacations, are looking for a hilly area to visit for cheap and can deal with the twisty roads of the mountains, Manali could be the place to be!

Manali is one of the famous and best-visited towns in the picturesque state of Himachal Pradesh. Set amidst the snowy mountains and with the flowing Beas river, Manali has been my go-to family destin (Read More)ation for vacations. Winters are the best time to visit as you can enjoy skiing and playing in the Solang valley. Though the weather is quite chilly in the months of December-February, you?ll nevertheless love the place. Since I love snow and white flaky mountains, I love visiting the place in December and I had been fortunate to spend my Christmas the last year in snow! The weather can be a bit harsh so carrying extra woollen and warm clothes is always a safe option. Not just the snow and sports, Manali is also famous for its beautiful Jana falls and Hadimba temple. My favourite part about the trip was the authentic yummy hilly food. Red rice, dim sums and rainbow softy ice-creams are what I loved the most. You can also visit the famous Nagar Fort if you enjoy historical places and have an eye for ancient structures and details. You can do paragliding up in the hills and have a bird eye's view of the beautiful tourist town or do rope sailing near the waterfalls. The old Manali is very different and has a Goa or Kasol's hippy vibe with cute little cafes and graffiti streets. Manali's mall road is as exciting as the tourist who visit. The mall road is a must visit for all shopaholics who love knitted, colourful fur coats, hats and gloves. The Tibetan market can be spotted in the basement and is filled with cute warm clothes and accessories that you would love to look at if not buy.

Apart from the places that are considered "must-visits" (Hadimba temple, Rohtang pass, solang valley, etc) in Manali, there are numberless places, in and around Manali, that give you the real experie (Read More)nce of the place. You can take any diversion from the national highway and you are sure to reach a breathtaking place. One such diversion leads to Jana, a place known for its beautiful waterfall. It has small food stalls that serve the most delicious authentic Himachali food. You can also go to places like Kasol, Malana, Kheerganga- all of which are very close to Manali to experience life in the mountains. If you go to Manali, make sure to go to Old Manali, which many tourists often ignore. The place has a Goa-vibe with endless rave parties that last all night and also some really good places to eat Himachali food. Of course, Manali is a really good place to go for adventure activities like rafting, paragliding, skiing, etc. However, the safety of these activities cannot be trusted.
