Sogut

Sogut is a quaint town nestled in the hills of the Eastern Marmara Region. It is the birthplace of Ottoman Empire and came in limelight with the success of the Turkish TV series "Diriliş: Ertuğrul," which dramatizes the life of Ertuğrul Gazi and the early days of the Ottoman Empire. With its historical landmarks, museums, and the cultural heritage, the town is relatively small and most attractions are within walking distance of each other.

The main attractions in Sogut include Ertuğrul Gazi Tomb, Kuyulu Mosque, Ertuğrul Gazi Museum, Celebi Mehmet Mosque, and Dursun Fakih Shrine. Near the major attractions, you can find stalls selling Kayı-themed merchandise, including swords, leather armor, and traditional attire. It is important to note that Söğüt offers limited accommodations, with only a few small hotels and guesthouses available. Dining options are also modest, with several local cafes and restaurants serving traditional Turkish cuisine.
