Irshalgad Fort Trek

The closest railway station is Karjat Railway Station from where you will have to hire a taxi to Irshalwadi village. If travelling by road in a private vehicle, one can go up to Chowk/Chauk village. It takes about an hour to then reach the fort.

You will have to eat in Irshalwadi before you start your trek as there is no food or lodging at the fort. It can also get very windy and wet during the monsoons, so do carry a windcheater, poncho or raincoat. Shoes with a strong grip are essential.

While the fort is not too large, there are many water cistern cuts in the rocks. You can only do the trek with artificial rock climbing equipment which is provided to you. It takes about 2 hours to ascend and 1.5 hours to descend.

The best time to do the trek would be between August and March avoiding peak summer and monsoon months.
