Shanzu Beach

Shanzu Beach, situated along the scenic coastline of Mombasa, Kenya, is celebrated for its pristine white sands and crystal-clear waters. This idyllic beach is a popular destination for both tourists and locals, offering a variety of activities such as swimming, sunbathing, and water sports like jet skiing and windsurfing.

Shanzu Beach is lined with several luxury resorts and beachfront hotels, providing visitors with a range of accommodation options and amenities. The vibrant coral reefs and abundant marine life make it an excellent spot for snorkeling and diving enthusiasts. Unlike other Kenyan beaches, Shanzu Beach is relatively short and enclosed by rocks on either side, resulting in fewer tourists and a more tranquil environment. The only vendors are a few Beach Boys selling handmade souvenirs and colorful scarves. At low tide, the beach is ideal for long walks. However, appropriate footwear is recommended as the route along the rocks to Bamburi Beach can be slippery due to large stony areas, algae, and other water plants. Additionally, some coral is present in the area.
