This route is at least 583 kilometres long and is more popularly known as the Bodi Ghat route. From Chennai, you can take the National Highway 45 (NH45) for 174 kilometres to reach Villupuram. From here to the town of Trichy, individuals have a lot of options for food due to an abundance of restaurants alongside the highway. A restaurant which is extremely famous along these roads is the Biryani Talappakatti Restaurant. Route 2: Chennai- Villipuram- Tirchy- Dindigul- Palani- Udumalpet- Marayoor- Munnar
The second route that joins Chennai to Munnar goes about the same way till Dindigul after which you have to head to Palani which is at a distance of 60 kilometres from Dindigul. Route 3 is very similar to route one up to Theni. This route is generally the more attraction laden route and is often taken by individuals who wish to visit Thekkady at the same time as Munnar. Thekkady is a small hill station which is approximately 58 kilometres from Kumili and is as loved and enjoyed as Munnar. The roads on this route may become a little rough after a little while, so keep a lookout for the smoother patches.
