The Van Saun County Park in New Jersey, New York is home to the Bergen County Zoo as well as various playing fields, picnic areas, pony rides and a carousel.
Open throughout the year, and with a nominal entrance fee, this spread out park offers a truly wide range of activities to keep kids occupied and engaged. Apart from the zoo, which holds multiple rare species of animals native to the Americas, there is also a miniature train that runs through the park offering rides to visitors at a small cost.
The park is accessible by public bus and holds many interesting events throughout the year. Between October and December, various exhibitions and markets for Halloween, Easter and Christmas turn Van Saun County Park park into a festive wonderland.
