Galway, Nuwara Eliya Overview

Located at a distance of 3km from the Nuwara Eliya, The Galway's Land National Park is one of the few well-known national parks in the city, even if it is one of the smallest ones. The park consists of many exotic birds and animals, coexisting to form biodiversity. The park opens up early in the morning to aid birdwatchers.

It is a 57-hectare park that has more than 30 species of birds, many other local animal species, and many different plant species. The park was declared as a National Park in the year 2006, but it was established, as a wildlife sanctuary, long back in 1938. The national park is situated within the central city of Nuwara Eliya, at the Havelock road, in the Department of Wildlife Conservation.
