Ton Sai is the first stop that all tourists traveling from Phuket, Krabi, or Koh Lanta to Koh Phi Phi must make. Ton Sai Beach is the extension of the Ton Sai Pier that receives passengers visiting the island. The western side is the prettiest stretch, dotted with several resorts but still maintaining its untarnished beauty. The water is cleaner and is home to colorful coral reefs.
You can spend a peaceful time sipping mocktails, snacking on finger food, and watching the sunset. The east beach is busier, lined by many more resorts than the west, and the water is crawling with long-tail boats. However, a section of the sea closer to the shore is separated with floating barriers to make it safe for tourists to swim. You can also rest on the beach and witness hundreds of ferries come, make anchor, and leave the pier all day long.
The eastern side of the beach has some popular accommodations like the U Rip Resort and Phi Phi Andaman Beach. After sunset, several fire shows, bonfires, and upbeat music create a great nighttime ambiance.
