Also known as Karon temple, Wat Suwan Khiri Khet is a stunning and colourful shrine situated in Patak Road, Phuket, Thailand. The temple features beautiful interior paintings depicting Buddha's life. Besides, the temple also boasts of two giant snakes at the entrance and other figurines nestled in different areas around the temple.
Monks who live here or visit the temple are often seen meditating, which makes this location an ideal spot to meditate and self-reflect. Featuring richly coloured embellishments, Wat Suwan Khiri Khet temple houses 17 Buddha statues in the large sermon hall and three figures at the Ordinance hall.
Spread across 12,000 square meters, Wat Suwan Khiri Khet's compound turns into a vibrant market every Tuesday and Saturday, from morning till early afternoon. Visitors can indulge in quick souvenir shopping and even local food.
