Seri Perdana, Putrajaya Overview

Seri Perdana, located in Presint 10, Malaysia is the official residence of the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

This lavishly built structure covers a huge area of around 42.5 acres with the architecture and layout being heavily influenced by the traditional Malay, Muslim and European styles. With multiple tours of the palatial residence conducted throughout the day and a special interactive session held once a day with the government officials at Seri Perdana, the visitors get a highly insightful view of the Malaysian society and their beliefs and practices.

The huge flower garden just behind Seri Perdana displays a huge variety of roses and hibiscuses. This leads us onto the mini children’s park where the kids can go and mingle around with the tiny, playful butterflies. Attached to the residential block is the Prime Minister’s office whose grandiose leaves the visitors filled with awe.

How to Reach Seri Perdana

Bus: Bus number 500 and the bus line L05 have buses plying at regular intervals to Seri Perdana. The buses are both an economic as well as a convenient means to commute.

Train: Train line 7 stops right near Seri Perdana. It is quite an economic option and the train ride is undoubtedly comfortable.

Taxi: It might not be the most economic option and finding a good parking slot might be a problem as no private vehicles are allowed inside the area bordered by the security team.

Tips

  • Both local visitors as well as foreigners must carry some form of identity proof preferably the passports issued by their respective countries.
  • Visitors are not allowed to carry any bags, cameras or phones inside the Complex Area. You’ll have to leave them behind at the safety and locker room guarded by the local security team.
  • Personal vehicles are not permitted inside the complex without special permit of the Seri Perdana Management.
  • Food, drinks, cigarettes, lighters are not allowed inside the premises and heavy fine is imposed on those who fail to follow the rules.
  • Pets are not allowed inside the Complex area.
  • Visitors are not permitted to wander around in unauthorized areas or take photographs inside the premises of Seri Perdana with the exception of individuals given special permit or appointed by the Prime Minister’s Management Staff only.
  • The premises of Seri Perdana are disabled friendly and have special wheelchair facilities which can be claimed at the time of entry. Also, there are special zones for the pregnant and nursing women and the elderly visitors.
