Videy Island

Videy Island is situated close to the capital city, full of natural and human-made creations to admire. The island mainly features a hiking trail for visitors to walk through. The sculptures like the Imagine Peace Tower make the island popular among tourists.

Visitors can discover natural landscapes with sculptures and buildings as they walk further into the island. The green landscape with water all around is spread over 1.7 square kilometres. The island is home to many birds, animals, and other wonders of nature, which you can witness during your visit. Remnants of settlements dating back to the 10th century were present on the island. You can also witness an abandoned village inhabited in the early 20th century. The Imagine Peace Tower made by Yoko Ono is a memorial to John Lennon present on the island. Skuli Magnusson, also known as the "father of Reykjavik," had a home in a church that still stands on the island. The visitors usually access the island through a ferry that goes back and forth throughout the day.
