Skyline Rotorua, Rotorua Overview

On top of all this, Skyline Rotorua organises events and celebrations also on special days like - New Year's Eve and Christmas day.

Skyline Gondola

The adventure-filled day starts with a stunning tranquil Gondola ride up along the sides of Mt Ngongotaha. An 8 seater Gondola cabin assisted by a 900-metre long Doppelmayr cableway system takes the visitors on a tranquil ride up to the Skyline Rotorua complex. Theron begins actual high-speed action, turning on the adrenaline rush.

Timings- Opens at 9 a.m. on all days. The last Gondola departs from the top only when the restaurant closes.

Zoom Zipline

The one-of-its-kind 400 metres dual Zipline takes one zooming at a speed of up to 80 km/hr, flying through the air and ending up on a platform. The flight ends but not the fun as there still is the 13 m free fall or the Quickjump for the more adventurous lot. For the Quickjump, one is harnessed to a single line and the plunge for the free fall taken. A special braking system ensures a soft and safe landing. Those not taking the free fall can be airlifted to the Skyline complex. The Zipline runs with parallel lines allowing you to ride side by side with your friends or family.

Skyline

Daring enough to face your fears or craving for an adrenaline rush - NZ's only Skyswing sure is the call for you. It is a 3 seater car lift which is hoisted another 50 metres high above Skyline Rotorua. You are hung from a harness and testing you limit you are to make the drop, swooping at 150 km/ hr as you go swinging over stunningly incredible views of Lake Rotorua and the city. Skyline Skyswing helps one to step out of their comfort zone and carve out cherishable memories for oneself. This Skyswing is Rotorua's highest and fastest adrenaline pumping activity.

The specially designed safety harness requires all Skylineswing thrillseekers to be over 110 cms tall. Minimum age required is 5 years. Children of ages 5,6 and 7 are to be accompanied by an adult, under 13 children are to be accompanied by a legal guardian or parent while buying the ticket at least.

Skyline Rotorua Luge

It is a fun fast-paced thrilling adventurous activity. The luging adventure was a brainstorm of the founders of Skyline Rotorua and it all originated in 1985 amidst New Zealand's scenic volcano wonderland. A Luge cart is a gravity fuelled cart wherein the rider has total control over speed and direction. The Skyline Luge has 3 tracks each of different skill levels. One is to select from the Scenic, Intermediate and Advanced level, get into the cart and take off downhill through bends and turns and down through Redwood forests. Luging down once is never satisfying, so take a chairlift ride to the top again and go Luging again. All three levels can be tried one by one. It is suitable for all ages.

Night Luge is also available now. It seems more thrilling to ride a Luge cart under the stars and disco lights lighting up the way as you come twisting turning your way down.

Dining

Food Market Kitchen and Stratosfare Restaurant and Bar are the two places where the visitors can fuel up their empty stomach. Food is served both as a buffet and cooked to order dishes. Rotorua's best dining experience can be had savouring the stunning views and the award-winning delicacies. The dishes are prepared using locally sourced seafood, meat and produce.
