This 12-mile-long bay is the third-largest natural protected bay in California and is situated near the US-Mexico Border. It is located in the vicinity of San Diego, Chula Vista, National City, Imperial Beach and Coronado. It is of importance as it is the homeport to several aircraft carriers. There are many resorts located around the corner. There are many parks and nature preserves along the coastline which attracts visitors all year long. If one is interested in the Museums then there are about Ten Ship Museums in the San Diego Bay where one can see different exhibits and wooden replicas of various stuff.
Small boat sailing and jet skiing are very popular here and there are stores which give out the rental supplies for it. This place is also a host to many events which include the Big Bay Boom, the annual firework display; the Parade of Lights, a parade of 80 decorated small boats. The sliver Strand is a long Narrow, picturesque strip of land along the western border of the bay. There are saltwater ponds used for salt extraction towards the southern end of the Bay.
