The Alamo Square Park is a city park amid a residential area in the city of San Francisco, California. This 12.7-acre park spans about four city blocks atop of a hill. The Alamo Square park is named after the solitary cottonwood tree, referred to as Alamo in Spanish. The park is bounded by Steiner street in the east, Scott street in the west, Fulton Street in the north, and Hayes Street in the south.
It offers an overhead view of the downtown San Francisco, with several architecturally-diverse along the extremities, covering the William Westerfield house and the Victorian houses called the 'painted ladies' (a renowned post-card motif).
On a sunny day, you can catch views of the Transamerica Pyramid Building and the crest of both Golden Gate Bridge and Bay Bridge from the middle of the park. The park features dual-level play area kids with three slides, six swings, and a couple of climbing structures. The upper level is for older kids, and the lower area is for young toddlers. Also, there is a full tennis court. There are several walking trails, resting benches, and flower beds.
