Angel Island State Park is situated on Angel Island, which is the largest island in the San Francisco Bay, California. This island park offers scenic views of the sea, the SF Skyline, the Marin headlands, and the surrounding Bay area. There are many hiking and biking trails to have fun. Various recreational options are available in this park, including the campsites for camping. Long ago the Angel Island was a hunting spot for the tribal inhabitants. Also, the island has around a century-long military history.
The military finally departed in the early 60s and allowed this Island fir transformation into the park's land.
You can access this island via public ferry or private boats. During the high season, lots of ferries are obtainable. Though during winters, there are limited ferry services to the island.
Bicycles are allowed in the park. You can also avail of the Bike rental facility. However, skateboards and scooters are not allowed. For camping, camp stoves or charcoal grills are allowed in campsites. Due to public safety and security of the place, night travel on the island is restrained after sunset.
