Diablo at the 7th and 13th tee to the Golden Gate Bridge and the ocean at the 17th tee.
With the dawn of a new century and the ever-growing popularity of Golf in the region, the general public found it difficult to give their shot at the sport due to all courses either privatized or run by the military. This prompted the municipality to construct a public golf course, making the Lincoln Park GC the oldest city-owned course. It was constructed in various stages, originally as a 3-hole course in 1902, later built into a 9-hole course by 1909 and finally, into the 18-hole course that it is today, by 1918.
The Lincoln Park GC has always proved to be a bit of a challenge with it’s steep hilly terrains to strong ocean winds. But has also garnered attention for being a course that caters to all golfers, irrespective of their expertise level. It has always played host to the San Francisco City championship and has been the home for the city Junior championship.
