The Santorini Lighthouse, located in Akoriti, is an important site as it was one of the first lighthouses to be constructed in Greece in 1892. It towers on the edge of the rocky cliffs in the southwestern part of the island. The best time to visit is during the sunset for breathtaking views of the sea and the panoramic views of the island. The lighthouse is closed, so no entrance is allowed but one can enjoy views from the rocky cliff.
