About your question, it would depend on how much of Kashmir you would like to cover. If its just Srinagar, 5 days are more than enough. However, if you want to visit more places, I would suggest you (Read More)to add a few more days to the trip. The places that you must visit in Kashmir, must include Pahalgam, Patnitop, Anantnag, Verinag and Nubra Valley. A road trip is possibly the best way to enjoy the beauty of Kashmir in its entirety. Spare a night stay in each of Pahalgam, Patnitop and Srinagar. You could stay on in Srinagar for about 2-3 nights, to explore the sights and sounds. You can enjoy Anantnag and Verinag on the drive down.

The entire distance one-way is approximately 2400 km. From Udaipur to Srinagar, it will take about 2-3 days, depending on how you go. From Srinagar to Leh, it will take around 12 hours. From Leh to M (Read More)anali, it will take another 12 hours. So you will spend about 3 - 4 days travelling. If you want to enjoy these places, you will require around 10 - 14 days for the entire trip. The per person charges, excluding diesel, will be approximately INR 13,000, depending on the kind of trip you take.

Dal Lake is the heart of Srinagar. I stayed in a house boat that floats on the lake. The house boats are cozy and lavish. Every morning, people in small boats sell fruits, vegetables and jewelry.
