Teide National Park, located in central Tenerife, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to Mount Teide, Spain's highest peak at 3,718 meters. The Mount Teide Volcano rises to 12,198 ft. above sea level and is the highest peak in Spain. It is the third oldest national park in Spain. The park has an area of 18,990 hectares and has been named as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is also a part of the 12 treasures of Spain. This provides a unique landscape of craters, volcanoes and various types of flora and fauna. There are special services that are organised for the visitors so that they can experience this area in a much better way. There are numerous vantage points from where you can have a panoramic view of the entire park.
Other Important Objective Information : A free permit should be attained in advance to hike to Mount Teide Peak from Parque Nacional Teide reservation website. Try to obtain the permit atleast 3 months prior to the trip. In case of unability to obtain permit one can either buy ascent and descent cable car rickets to reach the peak for ascent and descent to the park is chargeable at EUR 21.50 each or both journey ticket for EUR 38. Cable car runs in a stable weather. In case of finding cable car or hike non-operational, you can try Parador to Guajara circuit trail or Roques de García.
