Tetouan Medina, or the old city, is a maze of narrow streets, bustling markets, and stunning architecture. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site. One of the most notable landmarks in the Medina is the Grand Mosque, which dates back to the 17th century. The medina is also home to various traditional markets, restaurants, cafes and hammams.
Visitors are usually struck by the unique blend of Moroccan, Andalusian, and Spanish influences that can be seen throughout the medina. Another must-see attraction is the Dar Batha Museum, which is housed in a traditional Moroccan palace and showcases the art and culture of the region.
