Copernicus Square

Surrounded by a mix of architectural styles, the square features notable structures such as the Warsaw University Library, characterized by a striking glass façade and an extensive collection of books and manuscripts and the dominating statue of Nicolaus Copernicus. At the heart of the square stands an unmissable and aesthetically pleasing statue of Nicolaus Copernicus, erected in 1830. The statue symbolizes Copernicus' contributions to science and showcases him holding a celestial globe, representing his groundbreaking heliocentric theory.
