Kottachedu Teak Forest, Yercaud Overview
Kottachedu Teak Forest is an extensive forest area once inhabited by hill tribes, who are believed to have vacated it after a plague hit the region. The government later planted teak trees extensively across the area.
Boasting of flourishing wildlife, the majorly spotted animals are foxes, anteaters, bison, swallows, paradise flycatchers and more. Mostly frequented by nature lovers, photographers and wanderers, the place is a green lung for the city and is considered a perfect place to relax and rejuvenate.
