Great architecture and location but fundamentally had some issues which made resting at the hotel not restful.
Great central location with a lot of stuff around.
For the rate we were paying there were issues like lights not working, loud pipe work that would wake us up every few hours, we could hear all the people next door and in the restaurant downstairs and people coming back at all sorts of hours of the night which meant we couldnt sleep well.

    Nice design and decoration
Entering through a restaurant. Poor breakfast Long await at night for help / room service / water. No water in the room, when you cannot drink from the tap you should give unlimited water to your clients. Not possible to cook a simple rice.

Great hotel, shame about the jacuzzi and pool
Amazing location, helpful staff, chic and comfortable bedroom and superb breakfast.
The pool was way too cold to swim in and the jacuzzi was pretty filthy and not hot enough.

Most Rooms dont have windows and low level lamp lighting. So dark you cant see very well. Check in was very slow. Seemed very disorganized.

Bad design makes the experience not worth it
    Staff, breakfast and bed
Bathroom and shower have no ceiling, which I find ridiculous and a really bad design. It means that there's obviously no privacy (you can smell and hear everything), but also it's uncomfortable to take a shower with the room being cold because of the air conditioning. We couldn't find the electric socket in the bathroom until the moment we were leaving. There is not a place to hang towels in the bathroom.

Vintage boutique hotel in an excellent area!
Breakfasts was fantastic, the building and area were beautiful.
The bathroom was not private at all. could not have windows open because of privacy issues. Very poor room layout

I travel a lot and this was easily the worst hotel experience I have had in a long time.
the design of the building was beautiful but its a mixed use building - hotel, hostel, restaurants and shops so it is noisy and feels very public.
I rarely write a review and my friends and I wanted to like this hotel but we moved after one night of getting no sleep. Our room was described as having a courtyard view - instead it had a door which opened on to the courtyard so once the door was shut there was no air or natural light. And with no ventilation it smelled mouldy. The room we booked was a King room but we were given a Queen room. It was a lot smaller and there was no explanation. If we hadnt pointed this out, we would have been charged the King rate, and as the hotel was fully booked, there was no possibility of changing rooms. Our room had building services in it attached high up on the wall which included a loud electrical buzzing sound every 20 minutes through most of the night so we got no sleep. The bathroom only had curtain dividers for the toilet and shower areas and was very poorly lit. There was no ventilation or fan in the bathroom area. The hotel has a roof bar which it lets out for social functions - on the night we checked in there was a large wedding party with music that could be heard throughout the building at a level which made it impossible to sleep. We were told it would stop at 10pm but it was still going at 1am. The hotel also has speakers in its communal areas which stay on all night. This is in addition to the speakers and noise from other restaurants in the building. We complained to the night porter but nothing was done. The next morning we decided to checkout so that we could enjoy our stay in Mexico City and had to negotiate through the receptionist (who was very friendly) as the manager would not come and meet us. My advice would be to stay somewhere else. We found a fabulous 4star hotel overlooking Zocalo square and it cost considerably less.
