Overall, guests praised the cleanliness and comfort of Mercure Cardiff North Hotel. The dining experience was enjoyable, with a fabulous dinner and nice buffet breakfast. Some guests were bothered by (Read More) noise from other guests and football squads. Issues included heating problems and cigarette smoke smell in the room. However, the privilege room was comfortable and well worth the premium. The hotel received praise for its decor, service, comfortable beds, and quiet rooms. Breakfast was a highlight, offering a variety of tasty options. While some felt the hotel was not conveniently located for the city centre or Cardiff Bay, overall the stay was wonderful and left a positive impression.

Do Not Stay it's a waste of money.

The reception was nice apart from that it all went down hill. When we arrived the restaurant was closed for the festive period.

The rooms are modern but very dark and no much lighting we were towards the back of the hotel with our view being the fire escape which was in constant use banging door all the time. You could hear upstairs everytime the toilet was flushed or in the shower. From. Around 6am constant banging doors so bad that our own door kept rattling. The shower kept going cold and the air con unit above the door was so loud. The hotel itself is in a very old building and the car park is very dingy and not very safe. Was so bad we left 2 days early and had to book another hotel. This hotel should definitely not be a 4 star have stayed in much nicer hotels with a lower star rating I would like a refund as we had to folk out for another hotel. Would definitely not recommend staying here it's really not worth the price!

Shower not good if you are over 6 foot!

Big comfy bed

Both me and my partner are quite tall. Neither of us could stand up in the shower as the shower tray is raised considerably from the floor and the ceiling is quite low. I was in danger of banging my head on the shower head and my hair brushing against the peeling paint on the ceiling.

Great value for a short stay over Christmas.

The room was very clean with a nice comfortable bed, seating and a table - plenty of space for the two of us. Checking in was easy, as was registering the car for free carparking. Staff were polite and helpful. Breakfast was good, with a good selection of continental and cooked ingredients.

Nice hotel- good value and a short drive from the city

We booked our 3 night stay in 3 separate transactions as we were not sure that we wanted to stay 3 nights in a row at the same hotel, however the staff let us keep the same room so we didn't have to keep on changing. The bar staff let us borrow glasses to take to our room. The room was tastefully decorated, had lamps, a TV and a kettle to make drinks and a good sized family bathroom with shampoo , body wash and towels.

The restaurant was closed unless you made a booking, so no spontaneous breakfasts and there was no option to have dinner when we arrived in the evening which was a pain. The room maid did not empty our bins, so we had about 3 bags of rubbish to be taken out by day 3 (we did get up late, and she asked if we needed anything and gave us extra loo paper, just that we assumed that she would come back to empty the bin at a minimum after we left to go out for the day). It was a bit cold in our room and we brought our own electric heater to plug in and when it rained, there was a lot of condensation on the inside of the bedroom window.
