    Beautiful historic building and cosy rooms.
    Cosy, historic building with lots of character and friendly staff. Amazing breakfast and efficient service. The bathrooms have been re-plumbed so you gain the benefits of a charming property with modern plumbing.
    The only slight downside is that the entrance to the car park is narrow if you have a large car. However, they recommend that you reverse in and there is on street parking.

    Very welcoming and friendly. Absolutely stunning hotel. The staff are a delight.
    That we only stayed for one night! Everything from start to finish was exceptional.

    Needs time and care spent on it but the food was good.
    Clean, comfortable bed, good breakfast and evening meals.
    Dripping tap - more of a trickle than a drip, drip, drip - which didnt get fixed in over 24 hours after Id reported it; managers unkept promise to return with a screwdriver to shut it off. No shower toiletries provided. One of the hand towels had a stain on it. Very small shower cubicle (but plenty of hot water). Position of the TV on the wall; non-adjustable TV bracket. The decor could do with a refresh.

    3rd time staying here and worth every penny. Such a good night sleep and I love the quirky features of the whole hotel .

    the staff were very friendly at check in - the room was huge and comfortable and clean - the bathroom was large - I loved the old character that the building has and that they have retained so many original features breakfast was excellent quality but a little on the small side for me

    Evening meals fantastic. Best fish/ chips. Staff in bar and food service excellent. Professional friendly and polite. Enjoyed talking to us and nothing was too much trouble. A good team.
    Room did not have king size bed as requested and confirmed twice. Room was in need of a refurbishment. Hot tap loose . Carpet dirty. No extra loo rolls so ran out. No coffee only tea had to ask for some. Room appeared to be made up of different bits of furniture not as l expected a superior room to look like. Bed was very comfortable
