Him Darshan Express To Begin Operations This Christmas – Book Your Tickets!

As per the sources, the new “Him Darshan Express” comprising of six First Class AC Vistadome coaches and one First Class sitting cum luggage room coach will start operating this Christmas between Kalka and Shimla till December 2020. The train will originate from Kalka railway station at 07:00 AM and terminate at Shimla Railway Station at 12:55 PM the same day. On its return journey, the train will depart from Shimla at 03:50 PM and reach Kalka at 09:15 PM.

Ticket Fare & Amenities Offered

The fare has been fixed at INR 630 per person per single-sided journey irrespective of age and boarding/ de-boarding station of the travellers. Discussing the amenities offered and features of the train, the coaches will have reversible seats to allow passengers to adjust it according to the direction of the train’s movement. This is believed to enhance the overall sightseeing experience for visitors. Modular switches and sockets, LED lightings and charging points, glass top roofs, air–conditioning systems, Western-style lavatories and modernised interiors are other features planned to make the journey comfortable and enjoyable.

Overall Vision

Quoting Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), “The initiative was taken keeping in mind the tourists. Each vista dome coach will have 15 seats in which five-window seats at both sides and rest five seats will be aisle seats. Two air conditioners will also be provided in each coach. Passengers will be able to enjoy the panoramic views as these coaches are aesthetically designed having a top glass roof, wider UPVC windows. Window roller blinds and Honeycomb Blinds for roof glass will also be provided to shun heavy light inside the coach in summers”.
