Indian citizens need to apply for a visa to visit Turkey. Indians can obtain a Turkish Visa in the form of a sticker visa (applied offline with the Tukey Embassy in India). Indian citizens can also get an e-visa for Turkey, provided they have valid visas for certain counties.

Sticker Visa

Indians can only obtain a Turkish visa in the form of a sticker visa by applying physically. Indians need to apply for this visa by booking an appointment and submitting the documents by visiting VFS office on the selected date of appointment. This visa can be applied for single entry and multiple entry. A single entry visa has a validity upto 180 days where you stay in the country for up to 30 days from the date of your arrival. 
Note: Apply at least 20-30 days before if you are applying for a sticker visa.

How to Apply for Turkey Visa for Indians

Step 1: Visit Gateway International (https://gatewayinternational.com.tr/en/india) and download the application form and an undertaking letter.
Step 2: Click on “Schedule an Appointment” at https://gatewayinternational.com.tr/en/india/services/randevu-olustur, which is redirected to the VFS site. Create an account, select the nearest VFS office, and book an appointment for a selected date. Pay a service fee (separate from the visa fees) and get a printout of the receipt and appointment letter.
Step 3: Visit the selected VFS office and submit the documents. Pay visa Fees.

Documents Required for a Turkey Visa for Indians

  1. Visa Application Form: Fill out the form manually in block letters using blue or black ink. Attach one biometric photo. 
  2. Undertaking Letter: Fill out an undertaking document available online.
  3. Original Passport: Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date in Turkey and have at least 2 blank pages. If your passport was not issued in the area covered by the selected Turkish Consulate, you need to provide local address proof.
  4. Biometric Photos: Provide 2 recent biometric photos with a white background. The photos must be taken within the last 6 months, showing your full face clearly without shadows or glasses, and should be 2.5 inches x 2.5 inches.
  5. Covering Letter: Write a letter detailing your travel plan, purpose of stay, names of people accompanying you, duration of stay, occupation, and expenses. Sign the letter and include your contact details. 
  6. If you are employed, include an original leave letter from your company on letterhead stating your designation, period of work, salary, purpose of visit, travel dates, and details of accompanying persons. 
  7. For Students: Provide a No-Objection Letter from your school or a copy of the official holiday scheme, along with your student ID card.
  8. For Self-Employed: Submit company registration documents with your and the company's name (notarized). Include GST registration (notarized).
  9. Invitation Letter: If visiting someone in Turkey, include an invitation letter with the applicant's passport number and full name, along with a copy of the host's Turkish ID card, passport, or resident permit, and their address and contact details.
  10. Monetary Documents:
    -Last 3 months' salary slips on letterhead with signature and stamp.
    -Last 6 months' personal bank statement (original or bank-attested copies) showing a balance of at least 1 lakh INR.
    -Last 3 years' Income Tax Returns (ITR) or Form 16 (for employers).
  11. If retired, provide retirement documents and income proof, plus the last 3 months' bank statement.
  12. If freelance, include contract documents, a leave/cover letter, proof of regular income, and the last 3 months' bank statement.
  13. Flight Tickets: Provide a round-trip flight ticket reservation or booking.
  14. Hotel Reservation: Include details of your hotel booking. If booked through an agent, the reservation should be on letterhead with the applicant's name, check-in and check-out dates, along with the agent's seal, signature, name, and designation.
  15. Travel Insurance: The insurance should cover your entire stay in Turkey. It can be arranged at the Turkey Visa Application Center.
  16. Authorization Letter: If someone else is submitting your application, provide an original authorization letter from both you and the travel agent.
  17. Passport Copies: Include copies of the first, last, and any visa pages of your passport.
  18. Proof of Civil Status: Provide a copy of your Aadhar card and PAN card.
  19. Original Previous Passports: Submit your previous passports. If lost, include a police FIR.
  20. Additional Documents: Optionally, include a tour itinerary, marriage certificate if you are traveling with your spouse and do not have their name on your passport, etc.

Turkey Visa Cost

The total Visa cost for a sticker visa for Turkey falls around INR 18000. A part of this you have to pay online while booking for an appointment, and rest of it you will pay at the VFS center on the day of the appointment. You can avail of several additional services like SMS service, courier service for a charge on the spot while submitting documents. One such service is the priority visa decision service which allows you to get a decision within 5 working days, costing around INR 7500.

Turkey Visa for Indians Processing Time

A normal sticker visa for Turkey takes about 8-10 days to process; it may take up to 15 days or more in case of a thorough examination. You can also choose a priority service for an additional cost VFS center, which allows you to get a decision in 5 days.

E-visa

Indians with a valid visa to the US, UK, Ireland, or the Schengen area can apply for an e-visa online. It is valid for 180 days and can be used to stay in Turkey for up to 30 days from the date of arrival. You can obtain it within minutes. The cost of a Turkey e-visa for Indians is USD 43 (INR 3587), payable online when applying for it. You can apply for an e-visa for Turkey at "https://www.evisa.gov.tr/en/". Visa processing time for an e-visa is 5 minutes.

Turkey Transit Visa for Indians

Indians who plan to transit through Turkey without leaving airport transit area, do not need a visa. However, for any reason, if you need to exit airport transit area or stay overnight in Turkey, you need apply for a transit visa which is applied the same way as a normal sticker or e-visa. And costs the same.
