Kaleici is the oldest historical city in Antalya and has quickly become an important city centre and one of Turkey's most popular tourist destinations. It is home to the 130 AD Hadrian Gate dedicated to Emperor Hadrian, the 17th century's 14m high Hidirlik Tower, and Suna-Inan Kirac Kaleici Museum. It comprises the harbor from where boat tours can be taken.
Kaleici is perfect for visiting during the summer months. Ottoman-era restored houses surround the entire neighbourhood with cobblestone streets and small souvenir shops, which come alive in the summertime due to the influx of tourists worldwide. Behind the Kaleci Marina is a small beach, Mermerli Beach, with an observation deck atop a hill giving a panoramic view of the city and the Mediterranean Sea. The Marina itself docks several yachts and boats, and tourists can even board a submarine for a private tour. In addition, there is an observation terrace with a glass balcony offering picturesque views of the Marina. It is close to Kecili Park, where little cafés and wooden statues make the perfect backdrop for watching the sunset. Built in 100 BC, Kaleici is lined with hotels and tourist attractions.
