Kuta

A highly popular tourist area in southern Bali, Kuta is the capital of the Kuta district and is known for the most vibrant and frantic nightlife on the island. Characterised by lots of cheap accommodation and affordable bars and clubs, one can expect the streets here to always be crowded by tourists, both young and old. Kuta is also home to some of Bali’s best beaches, popular for various watersports and known particularly to be great surf spots. Surfers, especially from Australia, visit the beaches to conquer the waves each year.

At first glance, Kuta looks far from being a recommendation for families. But those with kids can enjoy the premium experiences the private beach resorts offer. In addition, some of Bali’s most popular waterparks are found here, along with quirky-themed galleries such as Upside Down World. There are also several shopping malls and complexes in Kuta, typically not found elsewhere in Bali. These malls house all kinds of retail stores ranging from clothing, electronics, and home products to game centres and cinema halls.
