Kuta's Sari Club was a world-renowned open-air bar that drew tourists from around the world to enjoy its ambience and its laid-back vibes. It became the site for one of Bali's most horrific tragedies during the 2002 Bali bombings that claimed the lives of over 200 victims. The bombings destroyed the are where the Sari Club was and is situated across from the Bali Memorial Wall. It is a sombre reminder of the tragic events that happened that day.
Site of Sari Club is now a car park. There have been talks of turning it into a memorial park. The street leading up to the Site of Sari Club is lined with restaurants and nightclubs. The street is popular among youngsters for its music scene as well as a remembrance of the site's grim history.
