National Museum of Egyptian Civilization

National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) is located in historic district of Fustat, overlooking the Nile River. It is known for its vast collection features an impressive array of artifacts including exquisite sculptures, intricate jewelry, royal mummies, and other priceless treasures.

Spread across several floors, the museum features unique exhibits designed to showcase Egypt's heritage from ancient times to the present day. At the top of the museum, visitors can enter the striking "Hall of the Pyramid," where 3D screens present the story of Egyptian history and artifacts. The museum also houses 9 large halls, each focusing on different periods of Egyptian civilization, from prehistoric to contemporary times. Notably, the Royal Mummies Hall displays 22 royal mummies and 17 sarcophagi, including famous figures like King Ramses II and Queen Hatshepsut. Throughout the museum, visitors can learn about ancient Egyptian burial practices, mummification methods, and view artifacts such as pottery, clocks, farming tools, and Islamic and Coptic art. The museum's main hall also highlights contemporary Egyptian artists and their contributions.
