Located in Maggie Daley Park, the Cancer Survivor’s Garden is a hidden gem at the center of the city. The garden is named, in the honor of the lady who lost her life to breast cancer in 2011. Encompassed in the garden are three pavilions one of which is at the entrance of the garden.
Two granite columns flank the pavilion, which has seven plaques representing the steps for cancer survival. The garden stretches across 2.2 acres of land is a positive space for cancer survivors. With plenty of space for relaxing and self-reflecting, the Perennial Garden Walkway is one of the popular sections of the garden. Along the walkaway are the plaques that inspire the cancer survivors with their motivational quotes. Visitors often visit the garden during the spring season and the summers, as the garden is sprawling with seasonal flowers. But even during winters, one can enjoy their visit to the garden.
