The merge of two pre-established congregations, The North Presbyterian Church and the Westminister Presbyterian Church led to the formation of the Fourth Presbyterian Church of Chicago on the 12th of February 1871. The Church organizes various outreach programs to advocate for justice and peace and propagate God’s unconditional love for all. The initially dedicated building of the Church was destroyed in the Great Chicago Fire in 1871, the current Church building was built in 1912 under the architect Ralph Adams Cram in the Gothic revival style.
