1. Pune to Coorg By Flight
The hill station of Coorg has no airports of its own and thus, there are no direct flights from Pune available. Previously the closest airport from Coorg was the Mangalore Airport which was at a distance of 160 kilometres. Bangalore, on the other hand was the closest international airport to Coorg. The newly opened Kannur International Airport however, takes the title for both the closest airport and the closest international airport. This airport is located at a distance of 91.2 kilometres and it takes approximately 2 hours and 22 minutes to reach Coorg from here. Go Air and Indigo have frequent flights from Pune to Kannur, if one wishes to take them. Although, Bangalore has more frequency of flights from the city of Pune and it takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach Bangalore from Pune by flight. From here on, the flight time to Mangalore is just 1 hour and from Mangalore to Coorg by cab is 3 and a half hours, making it one of the fastest ways to travel the entire distance.
2. Pune to Coorg by Train
Since the chilly hill station of Coorg does not have a railway station of its own, the closest railway station which is the Mysore Junction Railway Station, is used as the default for railway connectivity. While Mysore Junction Railway Station is at a distance of 107 kilometres, the Bangalore Railway Station which is 265 kilometres from Coorg is also a popular option. Other stations include the Mangalore Railway Station at a distance of 150 kilometres and the Hassan Railway Station which is at a distance of 104 kilometres.
Most trains leaving from Pune for Mysore or Bangalore depart from the Pune Junction Railway Station. There is a total of 19 trains from Pune to Bangalore, which makes connectivity extremely efficient and comfortable. On the other hand, trains travelling from Pune to Mysore are only 4 and not one of these are daily trains. The fastest out of these trains is the Hazrat Nizammudin- Mysore Swarna Jayanti SF Express which runs on Tuesdays. This train leaves from Pune at 9:30 AM and reaches Mysore at 4:55 AM the next day, making the average travel time 19 hours and 25 minutes.

3. Pune to Coorg by Bus
Buses are a famous method of travelling from Pune to Coorg, second only to train travel. Operators such as VRS Travels, SRS Travels, Canara Pinto Travels and Anand Travels ply comfortable A/C buses from Pune to Mysore on a daily basis. There are around 5 of these buses that run daily whereas the other may differ from week to week. The first of the daily buses leave at 4:30 PM whereas the last one is an overnight bus that leaves Pune by 8:00 PM. As for Pune to Mysore, there are scarcely any buses that travel this journey due to the long hours of travel. Even buses from Mysore to Coorg are not as high in frequency, with around one or two buses plying everyday (most being overnight buses). Hence, taking cabs from Mysore onwards is encouraged.
