The massive fortified Citadel of Calvi has much to offer, with a brilliant view from its bastions. The view of the Citadel's ramparts is magnificent, making it one of the top historic destinations in Corsica. Opposite it, you can find Chez Tao, a 1935 cabaret, now known for its nightlife.
An awe-inspiring Symbolization the city of Calvi built during the Genoese occupation. After passing the monumental doorway between the two 16th century bastions, one can see the ancient Palace of the Genoese Governors, built in 1492 which now serves as a barrack for French army. Inside the citadel, one can find the church of the city's guardian angel St. Jean-Baptiste and the Tour de Sel, a watch tower constructed in 1897.
