Located in downtown Dallas, the First Presbyterian Church was formed in Dallas in 1856. Being the mother church and first Southern United States Congregation, many other Presbyterian Churches have emerged in the district as a result of the first one. The church originally began with just 11 members. The church’s first-ever building and place of worship were formed in 1873.
In the coming years, it opened many more centres in and outside Texas. The Church has always been heavily involved in community service. It created an orphanage for children and started a children’s medical facility. The Church’s stewpot has received national recognition for serving homeless people. First Presbyterian Church is one of the popular churches in Dallas.
