Lake Highlands Community Garden is the first garden of its kind that promotes neighborhood food gardening in the city of Dallas. Spread over 2.27-acres, this garden was established in 2008 and fully run by donations and voluntary work.
The food grown on the Lake Highlands Community Garden goes to the food banks of Dallas. The organic produce is grown, taken care of, and harvested by hundreds of volunteers around the year and across ass seasons. There are many events organized like Community Day and harvest days which one can become a part of. The plots can be booked online if one wants to grow food and get to know the locals and learn from them.
