Home to the famous Himalayan trouts, this sparkling lake at 3204 m. has little log cabins scattered around the lake for camping and resting. Permit for fishing can be obtained from the Divisional Forest Officer, Uttarkashi. You can also trek the 16 km to Dodi Tal via Agoda and Kalyani.
Rail: Haridwar serves as the nearest railway station to the base camp of the trek, Barsu. The railway station is well connected to almost all the major cities of north.
Road: There are frequent bus services from Delhi to Rishikesh, Haridwar and Dehradun both under private as well as state department. From here on one can easily get a bus or cab to transfer to your base camp. You can also hire jeeps and tempos from Rishikesh till the base camp.

Day 1: Rishikesh to Camp Bugyalsarai, Barsu
Distance: 225 kms, Duration: 7-8 hours
Begin your first day with a drive to Sangamchatti via Uttarkashi. It is a 7-8 hours long drive covering a distance of 225 kms. The drive itself is quite amazing adorned with panoramic views of Garhwal Mountains along with sacred River Ganga. Transfer to a guest house or a tent for some rest.
Day 2: Barsu to Barnala
Distance: 6 kms, Duration: 3-4 hours
On second day the actual trek on foot begins towards Barnala Bugyal. It starts with an ascent up a trail through the pine forests towards Barnala. You will get to witness the Draupadi ka Danda peak all along the trail. Pitch your tents for the night.
Day 3: Barnala to Dayara Bugyal
Distance: 6 kms, Duration: 2,5 hours
Today you will trek on a well laid path that goes through a dense cover of pine forest and leads above a tree line onto the alpine meadows of Dayara Bugyal. During winters this sloping meadow becomes a major attraction among skiers. This also your campsite for the day.
Day 4: Dayara Bugyal to Nimdhar
Distance: 16 kms, Duration: 6 hours
After breakfast, it's time to depart and move ahead to Nimdhar. It will be a one long day with trail passing through rolling meadows and rhododendrons strewn everywhere. The place is flanked by Kalang peak and Draupadi Ka Danda Peak on one side and deep valley on the other side. Your campsite for the day is situated at a much lower altitude than Dayara Bugyal in a deep forest. Pitch the tents for the night.
Day 5: Nimdhar to Dodital
Distance: 16 kms, Duration: 6 hours
Day five is another long day when you will be descending down the dense cover of bamboo forest for two hours leading to Dodigad stream. The ascending begins soon after towards Sangam Chatti followed by a walk on flat ground for another 2 hours. You will finally arrive at Dodital, which also your campsite.
Day 6: Dodital to Darwa Top to Dodital
Distance: 5 kms, Duration: 3 hours
First task in the morning is to trek up to Darwa Top with your packed breakfast. It takes around 2-3 hours to reach the top covering a distance of 5 kms. Situated at an altitude of 4150 m, the trail is a climb up the hill, initially along the feeder till Dodital and then followed by a thick birch woods leading to a vast high altitude meadow. A picture perfect view of Darwa adorned with Himalayan wild flowers and an amphitheater view of Bandarpunch and Swargarohini range of peaks awaits you. Cherish the breathtaking views and soon commence the descent down the hill to reach the camp site for warm lunch. Once done with exploring the natural beauty of the place trek back to Dodital for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Dodital to Agoda
Distance: 17 kms, Duration: 4-5 hours
Have breakfast and it's time to say goodbye to this beautiful setting and trek down to Agoda. After a moderate trek of 17 kms, you will arrive at the campsite.
Day 8: Agoda to Rishikesh
Distance: 4 kms trek, 190 kms drive ,
Today is the last day of trek which commences with a trek down to Sangamchatti and then a drive to Rishikesh. Transfer to hotel and enjoy the evening at your own accord.
