Buffalo Bayou Park is unlike any other park in Houston, Texas. Renowned for being the biggest bat colony in the city, the park is also home to various wildlife species as well.
Although the park is quite narrow but long, it is perfect for a serene stroll amidst waterways of Memorial Drive and Allen Parkway.
Over 200,000 bats and other wildlife species come together during sunset at the riverbanks, close to Waugh Bridge, making it an ideal spot to witness this mesmerizing beauty. The park features myriad amenities such as the paved bike trails, skating areas, jogging tracks, fountains, play area, kayaking, and more. Other than this, the park boasts Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern, which is an underground space that features art installations and several public tours.
