Located in Memorial Park, the Houston Arboretum and Nature Centre is a non-profit arboretum which is spread across 155 acres of land. With natural trails of 8 km, there are various gardens encompassed in it, like the Sensory Garden, Hummingbird, and Butterfly Island and Wildlife Garden. The sensory garden in the Nature Centre is designed to appeal to the 3 senses smell, sight, and sound which is evident as the garden has highly fragrant plants, bees, and tropical sage plants.
The Wildlife Garden as the name suggests has harbored many reptiles, migratory birds’ amphibians, and many more. The Hummingbird and butterfly Island consists mostly of nectar plants. The Nature Centre visitors can enjoy wildlife as well as the sight of the unique gardens.
