The distance between Jodhpur and Jaisalmer via road is just 282 kilometers, and it will take you approximately 4 to 4.5 hours by road to reach your final destination. Of the different modes of transport from Jodhpur to Jaisalmer, roadways are the most preferred means of transportation. Not only is the travel time much lesser as compared to other options, but you also get to enjoy the beauty of Rajasthan on the way. Thus, you can either drive yourself, or book a cab or taxi, but only from a trusted cab operator.

Route 1: Jodhpur to Jaisalmer via Balesar Dechu Pokaran

This is the shortest route with well-maintained roads, but there are a lot of risky turns in between. As a bonus, you also get lots of good midway resorts and eateries to relax at. 

Route 2: Jodhpur to Jaisalmer via Phalodi Ramdevra

This route has four tolls on the way, but riding on this route is easier as compared to the first option. On the way, you could visit resorts, and also visit the ancient fort at Phalodi and Ramdevra, which is a popular spot amongst worshippers.

Route 3: Jodhpur to Jaisalmer via Barmer Highway

This is the longest route, but it gives you the golden opportunity to explore the beauty of Rajasthan on the way.
