Located in Malate in Manila, Philippines, Manila Zoo (formerly known as Manila Zoological and Botanical Garden) is a 14-acre zoo boasting rich wildlife. The zoo also houses the Wildlife Rescue Centre, which helps rescue injured, sick, and abandoned animals. In addition to that, it also has two aviaries. The highlight of the Manila Zoo is the Asian Elephant named Mali.
Besides, it has several crocodiles, a separate goose section, peafowl, herons, an African veldt section, a Bengal tiger, a monitor lizard, a Malayan civet, and a hippopotamus, etc. Other than the rich wildlife and an exorbitant collection of species, the zoo has a botanical arboretum and a lush green garden boasting of the diverse native flora and fauna. You can walk around the quaint little pathways and soak in the serenity of nature. Or else, you can also rent a boat and spend some peaceful time in the lake paddling away. Not only this, you can find several playgrounds and green spaces for kids to run around and enjoy themselves while you can relax. There are also several eateries to cater to your hunger pangs and souvenir shops from where you can pick up little knick knacks. The zoo is a popular spot of tourism and it attracts not just kids but also adults.
