There is no direct bus route from Colombo to Mirissa. So the best way to reach Mirissa is by taking a bus from Colombo to Matara which follows route number 02. The distance is 160.4 kilometres, and the fare for one person is INR 197. The journey lasts for approximately 4 hours and 45 minutes. Another bus that can be taken is the one going towards Katharagama, which covers 291 kilometres at INR 348 by route number 32. Or Tangalle which covers 201 kilometres at INR 244 by route number 32-4.
3. Colombo to Mirissa by Train
To get to Mirissa, one must take the direct train from Colombo Fort Station going towards Beliaththa and get off at Mirissa on the way. The distance from Colombo Fort to Mirissa is 146 kilometres. The ticket price for Second Class seats is INR 260, and for Third Class seats are INR 145.
