Cape Panwa is a tiny peninsula in the eastern part of Phuket's mainland. Located at a distance of 34 kilometres from Phuket Airport, Cape Panwa is a hotspot for residents of neighbouring regions and visitors of Phuket. Though Cape Panwa is visited by many tourists, the place is still peaceful, has a laid back vibe and is quiet. The picturesque natural scenes, numerous restaurants and activities to indulge in, allow the tourists to savour the 'real' Phuket. The lovely Cape Panwa beach, the beach bars, beach resorts, viewpoints like the 'Khao Khad Views Tower' and a visit to a nearby village Khao Khad offer a blend of modern and traditional Thai experiences to tourists unlike the bling and bluster of cosmopolitan cities.
Cape Panwa beach or Khao Kat beach in south-west Phuket is known for its quiet solitude and luxury villas. Although not a swimming beach, it is ideal for taking long walks as it offers a beautiful view over the Chalong Bay and Lone Islands, as well as the adjoining mangrove swamps. The beach also has a few restaurants serving local cuisine where you can dine and enjoy the view.
