Free Flight is a not-for-profit bird sanctuary in a small tropical oasis, situated in the south of the popular Del Mar Racetrack, Del Mar, California. Dr. Robert F. Stonebreaker established Free Flight as a breeding and boarding facility for exotic birds' in 1981. Today, it has developed into an exceptional sanctuary, where people can interact with birds.
The mission of free flight is to maintain a sanctuary that shelters, fosters, and re-socializes parrots, while providing education to the public to ignite a concern for the well-being of exotic species of birds.
This sanctuary features dozens of attractive parrots, greeting the visitors with their colorful blazing feathers, clucking and saying hello. Free flight is open daily for the public during the peak season, except on important holidays. You can also purchase plentiful scoops of food at 50 c for birds and 25 c for fishes
