The Walt Disney Family Museum is an incredibly well-designed and captivating place in the San Francisco Presidio honoring Walt Disney’s life and legacy. It depicts his childhood, his struggles, his creative work, Disneyland and beyond. They have 10 distinct galleries portraying his life and remembering him after. They have several mesmerizing exhibitions of Walt Disney’s original artwork for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Fox and the Hound, Disney creations in World War II, etc. The museum provides translated audio tours, noise-canceling headphones and video screenings on loop describing the vision and innovative artwork of Walt Disney.
The museum includes a Fantasia-themed theatre that has film screenings of all the favorite Disney classics throughout the day. It hosts some memorable special events every year like Walt’s birthday, Mickey’s birthday, the Winterball, etc. The Walt Disney Family museum organizes a teen animation festival that screens films from school and collegiate level animators. They conduct simple and Disney themed pop-up studio and animation workshops for all age groups to learn and grow as an animator. The museum has an extensive gift store with a collection of Walt Disney Family museum books, accessories, apparel, etc. The cafe has some excellent food and pre-packed meals for everyone. The glass window at the back of the building has some fantastic views of the Golden Gate Bridge.
